A Time to Prepare: Ian S. Ardern

This is the beginning of a new day.
God has given me this day to use as I will.
I can waste it or use it for good.
What I do today is important, because I am
exchanging a day of my life for it.
When tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever,
leaving in its place something that I have traded for it.

I want it to be for gain, not loss; good not evil;
success not failure; in order that
I shall not regret the price I paid for it.

This past Sunday sister Sharon Down gave a fantastic lesson based around a conference address given by Ian S. Ardern of the 70 called,  A time to Prepare. Sharon cleverly displayed 24 clocks to represent the 24 hours in a day that Heavenly Father has blessed each and every one of us with. Sister down encouraged us to heed to the wise council of Elder Ardern and reminds us to strive to, "...prioritize our choices to match our goals or risk being exposed to the winds of procrastination and being blown from one time-wasting activity to another".
Sharon reminds us that though it is vital that we make time for ourselves and our personal well-being, it is equally important to strive to put off the natural man. Improve the shining moments and above all, make it our first priority to actively prepare to meet God.
As the Savior says, " He who is faithful and wise in time is accounted worthy to inherit the mansions prepared for him of my Father." ( D&C 72:4)

- MISSIONARY MEALS
Please refer to the missionary meals tab to see the monthly meal schedule.

President and Sister Lekias have asked that we are always mindful of the following guidelines when having the missionaries for dinner. They also express their gratitude for the many members that are willing to provide for the missionaries and appreciate your willingness to help the missionaries be obedient.

1.       We Love them
2.       We appreciate all that they do;
3.       To kick Missionaries out of their home within the HOUR—Far too many missionaries are staying longer than the hour.  Please ask members to turn off the TV when missionaries are in their home and remind the members of the sacred call of a Missionary
4.       Missionaries are only allowed 4 DINNER appointments per week.  Some wards are putting Meal rosters in place that cover 7 nights and are getting offended when the Missionaries say they can only attend 4 (they want to be Exactly Obedient)

TEMPLE NAMES
Sister Jo Monro (445 6295) has many names ready for the Temple that she needs help with. If you are planing a trip and need names please contact her.

Julie B. Beck: An introduction to "Daughters in My Kingdom" book

Sister Rachel Dimaya gave a beautiful introduction to the Daughters in My Kingdom books (not to be confused with a manual) in Relief Society this week. She impressed upon our minds the importance of these books and of the fact that they are truly a GIFT that we have been given. A gift that will help us to strengthen our spirits, our families and those around us. For more information on Daughters in My Kingdom please visit the lds.org link here. It will definitely be worth your while. If you would like to have online access to the contents of Daughters in My Kingdom, please click here.
